The conversation around ’s “Budget” music video has taken another turn after DJ Kandeke confirmed that changes have now been made to the controversial scene that sparked debate across Zambia.

Speaking during an interview in Lusaka, revealed that the scene involving two women kissing has been edited by adding a blurry effect, using YouTube’s built in editing system. According to him, the scene is also expected to be removed permanently at a later stage.

The update comes after days of public discussion surrounding the video, with reactions coming from fans, parents, faith leaders, and industry bodies.

But while confirming the edits, DJ Kandeke also made it clear that he was unhappy with how the matter was handled publicly.

He expressed frustration over communication surrounding the issue, saying concerns involving Yo Maps and his team should first be addressed directly before being discussed publicly.

At the same time, he acknowledged that the team is still learning and said criticism can be handled through dialogue rather than public pressure.

That part of the conversation is what many people are now paying attention to.

Because beyond the actual scene itself, the bigger issue slowly becoming visible is the relationship between artists, management teams, and industry bodies and how sensitive situations are communicated in public.

For some people, the edit shows willingness from the Yo Maps camp to respond to concerns. For others, the focus has shifted to whether the situation could have been handled differently from the beginning.

Either way, the “Budget” conversation has now moved far beyond just a music video.

And even after the blur effect, people are still talking.

What do you think about the way this situation has unfolded?
