The Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) has officially announced the death of Mr. Frank Chileshe, the father of Zambian singer Chile One MrZambia.
According to a statement issued by ZAM spokesperson Edmond Mbanga Miti, Mr. Chileshe passed away on the afternoon of May 12, 2026, after a short illness.
The news has left many fans shocked, with messages of condolences already pouring in for the artiste and his family across social media.
In its statement, ZAM said it stands in solidarity with Chile One and the entire Chileshe family during the difficult period, while also recognizing the late Mr. Chileshe’s role in supporting and raising one of Zambia’s most celebrated music stars.
The association also confirmed that funeral and burial arrangements will be communicated once the family finalizes details.
Fans, fellow musicians, and members of the entertainment industry have since continued sending prayers and support to the family as the country mourns alongside the singer.
