A pastor who reportedly visited a village farm to exorcise suspected charms from a tree stump is said to be in worsening condition, raising concern among those following the incident.
According to reports shared by journalist Patrick Mapulanga, the pastor's hand has reportedly turned black, while signs of paralysis have also begun to appear.
Attention is now shifting away from claims of witchcraft and toward what could be a medical emergency. Observers have pointed out that hollow tree stumps and fallen logs are common hiding places for snakes, leading to speculation that the pastor may have been bitten during the exercise.
Medical experts often warn that severe snake bites can cause tissue damage, loss of blood supply and, in serious cases, necrosis, a condition where body tissue begins to die. If left untreated, such injuries can lead to permanent disability or even amputation.
The situation has attracted widespread attention online, with many Zambians expressing concern and calling for urgent medical intervention.
Meanwhile, Pamulomo Zed Show promoter Lawson Sikazwe is reported to have been monitoring the situation and helping coordinate support and prayers for the pastor.
As debate continues over what exactly happened, calls are growing for the pastor to be transferred to Lusaka for specialised treatment as his condition reportedly continues to deteriorate.
