Lusaka West saw a major moment today as the newly built Mutinta Hichilema Secondary School was officially handed over.

The ceremony brought together First Lady Mutinta Hichilema, Education Minister Douglas Syakalima, ZNS Commander Lieutenant General Maliti Solochi, government officials and members of the community.

The new school now stands as one of the latest education projects aimed at improving access to learning in the area.

During the handover, officials toured the classrooms and different sections of the facility as people gathered to witness the opening.

What stood out for many was the size and condition of the school, with some residents saying the development could help reduce the pressure on nearby schools while giving pupils a better learning environment.

The event also highlighted the growing role of the Zambia National Service in infrastructure and community projects across the country.

Photos and videos from the commissioning quickly started circulating online as people reacted to the new facility.
