China has donated 80 brand new vehicles to the Zambia Police Service in a move expected to boost police operations across the country.

The fleet was officially received today by Home Affairs Minister Jacob Mwiimbu on behalf of the Zambian Government.

The donation comes through the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), a platform that has continued to support infrastructure, development and strategic partnerships between China and African nations.

Photos from the handover show rows of newly delivered vehicles prepared for deployment, with many Zambians online already reacting to the scale of the donation.

Government officials say the vehicles are expected to help improve mobility and operational efficiency within the Zambia Police Service, especially in areas where transport challenges have affected response times and field operations.

The handover also adds to the growing list of projects and support initiatives Zambia has received through its cooperation with China over the years.

While some citizens welcomed the development as a boost to public security, others quickly shifted the conversation toward how the vehicles will be distributed and maintained once deployed across the country.

The donation has already sparked major discussion online, with many people closely watching what impact the new fleet could have on policing in Zambia moving forward.
